The practical life exercises lay an important foundation in the child’s education. These are tasks that he can use every day in his daily life, right through childhood and into adulthood. The practical life exercises have a number of aims in the child’s development…They help to develop: concentration, independence, sense of order, sense of responsibility, co-ordination of movement and good self-esteem.
There are four areas of Practical Life:

Examples of practical life exercises dressing frames which teach the child opening and closing buttons, zips, buckles and bows; polishing a mirror, polishing shoes, spooning, pouring and sieving.
